Monthly chart of Lanier’s Level
Following up on the chart we did last month, here is a look at Lanier’s level updated for this month.
All things considered, it was a pretty good month. The lake rose another three feet, which was a bit more than some of the predictions I saw. However, it’s still 15 feet below full pool, and 13 feet below this time last year. Based on past history, April will probably hold close to steady, maybe falling slightly.
We’ll update again next month. Any predictions on what April will do to the level?

Assuming we get an average amount of rain, we should do better than average because the COE is finally trying to do something to save Lanier. Toward the end of March, discharge was averaging approx 500 CF/s which is well under 1/4 the average discharge rate in November.
I say with average rain we get another foot or more of rise before it levels off. Best case 3 feet, worst case it’s done rising already.

Great post Rich, I was about to say the same thing. Looks like lots of rain in the forecast so good news thus far for the month.

Accuweather just upgraded us a bit. I told Little we only had about a half inch in the forecast - now it shows a little over an inch. Maybe we get lucky and it’s more than that.

Do you really want to know what people think, or is this just a test of the emergency common sense system?
Common sense is tied to the La Nina, and the strength of it.

Having said that, here are the current estimates by the folks who claim to have some sort of crystal ball.
Speaking of “crystal balls.” Dr. Marvel says, that Dorothy’s house has already landed on the wicked witch of the east, if you can bear to witness it.

The water level chart is saying to expect a further 3 to 4 feet of increase in the water level in Lanier during the month of April.

Josh - I think you are reading the chart wrong or maybe looking at a different chart than I am -

Looks like they are calling for a little under a foot of gain.

Just watch. 2 feet minimum, probably more like 4

Hope you are right Josh. 4 would be awesome.

I predict a gain of 18 inches.
