Corps of Engineers insist that Lanier won’t be dry in 80 days
(via AJC) Rather than the predicted 81 days of water left in Lake Lanier, the Army Corps of Engineers say there’s “likely” at least a 100-day supply of water remaining. They seem so proud of being able to say that, but it’s not really much of a difference…
The good thing is that even if we drop below 1035 feet and Buford Dam becomes useless, they will still be able to pull some water from the lake using “a barge, pump and longer water lines”. Is it safe to assume they’re getting that equipment ready just in case it comes to that?
